AM Textured Art/Clay Camp - Week of 8/4

Details

THIS IS THE MORNING HALF DAY "Textured Art and Air Dry Clay" CAMP from 9 AM to 12 noon WEEK OF AUGUST 4, 2025 FOR AGES 11-15 CAMP RUNS AUGUST 4, 5, 6, 7 in the mornings only AUGUST 8 IS AN OPTIONAL ADD ON DAY Summer is a time for exploration, experimentation, growth and FUN. Our small group textured art camp checks those boxes plus so much more! We will be creating multiple art projects in this camp and texture is the theme! Campers will use a special joint compound, canvas, air dry clay, stampers, cutters, natural elements, watercolor paints and acrylics to create wall art, trinket trays, a planter, and hangers and / or ornaments. Each day will build on the next as many projects will need to dry overnight. **There is no pottery wheel or kiln used in this camp. We are hand building and working with air dry clay which does not need to be fired.** Creativity and independence are encouraged in all of our camps. Your child will learn basic art texture and hand building techniques and they will be encouraged to create unique projects from their new found knowledge. Campers will be encouraged to take creative risks and process will be valued over product (but don't worry, they'll all come out with something they are proud of!). It will not be possible to come home with all completed projects if your camper misses a day. We will spend entire days creating with mediums that must dry overnight, so if your child misses one of these days, they'll have nothing to work on the next day. Please sign up thoughtfully in order to give your camper the best experience! OPTIONAL FRIDAY - campers who choose to come on Friday will be creating their choice of "extra" projects during the week, and then these will be painted on Friday. Each project needs 24 hours to dry before painting. Any projects not completed by the end of camp on Friday (you never know, some campers get very ambitious!) will be sent home with a painting and finishing kit. ALL materials are included in this camp.
